Description:
A second collection of demos made from 2021 - 2024.
There were a lot of demos that I didn't include in the initial compilation
due to differing opinions I had during that time, but now I feel a lot more
comfortable sharing a lot more.
Note: a lot of these demos are unmastered and found in the depths of my hard
drive. All that's included is what's in the original project files, most
were re-rendered for lossless quality, and some are original renders from
the creation date. Only 2 tracks (tracks 8 and 11) are rendered in FLAC.
Insight:
02-08-21: A very early demo from 2021 that I never finished, and probably for good reason. i was debating on putting this on the other demo comp, but at the time I didn't like it enough.
02-10-21: Made a few days after the last demo.
11-17-21: An "all things good & bad" scrap during
the making of the album. Didn't really go anywhere, to be honest.
Fun fact: for some reason an early demo of this ended up surfacing on
Soulseek along with a demo of "deteriorate."
04-23-22: This was around the time i listened to Acetantina/Kaizo Slumber's "Carmen Winstead" album. I wanted to make a concept project with a similar sound based off dead RPGs/MMOs after frequently listening to it. I remember looking around a game I used to frequent in 2016, ActiveWorlds, and browsing all the worlds that were void of any players. Sadly though, that concept never came to light, and all that was left was around 2 demos. this is one of those demos.
04-26-22: BLUE WORLD outtake. Got severe ear
burn-out from it after working on it for a total of 13 hours, so I gave up
working on it. It sounds a little unpolished, but listening to it nowadays,
it sounds presentable.
You might notice that some elements were later reused in the song "Belrose"
and the scrapped hardstyle demo from July 20th of that same year. I tend to
recycle a lot of samples and melodies that were left unused or scrapped in
another project.
04-30-22: 2nd demo from the dead RPG concept that was mentioned earlier in the 04-23-22 demo.
05-10-22: This is my first hand at trying to make some sort of power electronics/industrial project. Parts of it were later used on hollow being's 'relapse' noise interlude, but I cut the beginning part of it off for the demo compilation, and it had already been used in the final album.
08-03-22 #2: 2nd trance demo, made on the same date
as the first one. I was doing my best to pass the time while I was trying to
recover from something awful that happened a night or two prior.
I was originally going to collaborate with someone well-versed in that
genre, but after sending the stems over, she never got back to me on that
sadly.
08-17-22: Not much to say about this one. I can't remember specifically the reason why I made this, but I know that I was at a stand-still point during august 2022 that i can't get into publicly.
08-30-22: This was made two or three days after
releasing "promiseyoullbehere" on august 25th 2022. All done in a night or
two if I can recall correctly. I still remember and sort of feel to this day
how excruciating it was during that time.
This was released publicly that night, but I took it down a few days later
due to my reasons. Now that enough time has passed, I feel comfortable
sharing this again.
august 2022 will be by far the most awful time of my life due to many
circumstances, including my spiral into depression. looking back on this
moment now, I am glad that i've lived through it and continued to push
forward.
elements of this song were later re-used in the intro and outro tracks for
'hollow being.'
09-08-22: Heavy, heavy Silent Hill samples in this
one. For some reason, I was always fascinated with making songs with live
drums in them. I never finished it, as I wanted to make something more
authentic sounding later down the line.
Made a day after an extremely tragic event.
Hot Springs (Remix): I wanted to make something similar to the "LoveEnergySugardust / Belrose" single (I always loved that single), so I did this one night that I never ended up finishing.
04-30-23: Another attempt at remaking the
"LoveEnergySugardust / Belrose" style, using samples from HuniePop...
again...
never finished.
11-11-23: An "everything is fine" scrap. Felt like there were too many ambient interludes, so I cut this one out. Didn't want to put it in the director's cut, either, so it belongs here now.
01-15-24: A more upbeat demo. Had a funny idea to incorporate jersey club in this in some form. I don't think I'll ever finish this one because the overall mixing on this is just, meh.
a voice from my past [demo]: This is the first draft I made for 'a voice from my past'. Some of the same melodies and basslines ended up being in the final song on 'everything is fine.'
